Nice atmosphere, wonderful waitstaff. Food was fresh and homemade with fresh herbs, etc. ordered hot tea with my desert and it was such a nice surprise...tea leaves instead of tea bag. nice touch and tasted especially good.

My wife and I have put off trying this place because it always seemed empty when we passed by and I usually take that as a bad sign. It was packed last Saturday evening and we decided to take the plunge. We were not disappointed. I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to Italian cooking but was totally won over by the quality and authenticity of the cuisine. This place is legit and is at the top of my short list of favorites in Annapolis. Many thanks to Diana for her warm and competent service. We will return!

Food was excellent. Fresh pastas were out of this world.

One of, if not the best dining experience I've ever had. The entirety of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The food was a mix of super authentic coastal Italian and Italian-American fusion. Everything was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back.

On a trip from my small town, I walked in wearing what I thought was the total wrong attire. The crowd there were wearing suits and dresses. Meanwhile I walked in wearing cheap cowboy boots, wrangler jeans, a plaid shirt, and my camo ball cap. I felt under-dressed and out of my element. The staff made me feel right at home. I felt as if they didn't care and they didn't treat me any different than a man two tables over that seemed to be wearing a $1,200 pair of shoes. The attention to detail in this restaurant was well above and beyond anything I've experienced before. From the glass of water they pour you as you first sit to handing you the bill, everything was perfect. They also have good strong drinks like I enjoy. The food was phenomenal but the prices were steep for what I'm used to. Bottom line: Great Food. Great Drinks. Great Service. Great Atmosphere. Higher prices than what this small town guy has been accustomed to. But don't let that stop you. It is worth the experience.

Service started strong then got busy and took a turn for worse food was good they did overcook my steak all in all I will give it another shot

We visited Annapolis, MD over the Thanksgiving weekend 2019. We stayed at the Marriott nearby and made reservations based on reviews from Trip Advisor. The best part was it was within walking distance. Our reservation was immediately recognized upon arriving, and we were seated in the intimate cozy dining room. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. A great place to celebrate Thanksgiving while away from home and traveling. Highly recommended.

Without a doubt the best restaurant in Annapolis. The owner and chef has fresh seafood delivered daily and turns them into the most amazing dishes. The veal chop and Kobe carpaccio are also outstanding. Last but not least, you'll be treated like family.

Lovey place to dine. Excellent food and service. If vegan, order the gnocchi with garden salad.

Everything that we had was delicious. My Chilean sea bass was the best dish I ever ate. Perfectly cooked! Before I had this delicious dish I started with oysters Rockefeller (called something different on the menu). Every bite was a culinary delight. To finish my meal the tiramisu just put it over the top. I definitely recommend this place as you will not be disappointed.

Great food. What you go to a restaurant for, food. We had the seafood lasagna and the Branzino with crab. Both delicious. Drinks were very good as well.

We tried Osteria 177 before buying a gift card for family. This restaurant is amazing! It is upscale, so dress nicely, and make reservations. The food is incredible, done to perfection, presented perfectly. It isn't your typical Italian restaurant, the flavors and sauces are so different but wonderful. We'll be back!

Amazing food and the service was impeccable.

There is lovely elegance to the architecture. It is a properly designed restaurant with careful attention to detail. Despite the high ceiling, the noise was kept under control. It is an intimate place to spend time. The service was impeccable. The salads were nicely prepared and our meals: pasta, duck, and chicken were nicely done and delicious. The martini was a disappointment and the glare of the TV from bar was a destraction to what was otherwise a lovely experience.

Great service, great atmosphere, and great food!

Food was decent. Dessert was pretty good too. Its nice not having to cook, but I feel like I can cook a better fillet and dessert for a fraction of the price.

Chris, our waiter, was the best. He new everything about the food, wines and whiskey. He made our night one to remember. Pricey, but well worth it!

At the first moment you step in that restaurant the waiters give you an enjoyable feeling. Very warm stuff, it is a lovely restaurant to pass time with buddies or with your date. very good cooking, skillful chief cook and stuff, decent pay and nice service. Warmly recommended.

We came here for our 3 year anniversary and loved it! Everything was amazing from the food to the service. Dijana was our waitress and she made the whole experience very special for us. I couldnt have asked for anything more. Thank you to everyone else involved, we will definitely be back soon!

Veal parm was excellent. Excellent atmosphere, warm and cozy. Dimitri, our server, went out of his way to make our meal exactly what we wanted. Best server I have had in years. They are lucky to have him.

I love this restaurant and have never had a bad meal there - until last night. Worst pasta/salmon dish I have ever had - got sick immediately. Reminded me of canned cat food. Service was slow and waiter never checked back after food was delivered.

Cannot thank this place enough. I got engaged Friday night on the water so we then planned on coming to Osteria after to celebrate. Set a reservation at 9 and ran a little late and the chef and staff still accomated us and made the night amazing. Many staff members hugged my fiancé and congratulated her as we walked in the door. The server we had was amazing and super friendly and the food was unbelievable. Many of us have been to Rome before and all agree that their pasta dishes are better than any restaurant we ate at in Italy. Thanks again to this amazing staff and to the chef for helping to make our engagement evening amazing. Couldn’t recommend a better place than Osteria 177.

I am a professional and my wife is a classically trained French chef. We eat out frequently in fine restaurants.We both agree that our dinner at Osteria night was the BEST we have ever had. The service was timely, courteous, and attentive. She had a perfectly prepared Chilean Sea Bass and I had the mother of all veal chops.....good beyond description!We had the best table in the restaurant by the window looking down Main Street.FIVE STARS

Me and my family have eaten here on countless occasions and we have never been disappointed. Upscale fine dining of the Italian variety that is out of this world. It's not American-ized Italian either. They have dishes that represent Italy in its true form. It has been a while, but I remember a sword fish dish that was amazing and my parents eat here weekly... Sometimes twice a week. Great wine and beer selection too. If you are in the Annapolis area be sure to eat here.

Not an Annapolis local but was looking forward to go to this location. Read the reviews and couldn't wait to try. Called at approximately 9:50pm, hours said it closed at 11pm on Saturday night. A woman picked up the phone and without hesitation I asked her what time they stopped seating to ensure we could still go. Very rudely she said, "it's closed", and hung up. We immediately called back and the owner answered. Very politely, he apologized. Sorry Sam but you're the reason for this review.

Possibly the best place to eat in Annapolis. Consistently rated in the top three and often in first place

Dimitri was a fantastic server, very funny and helpful and made my anniversary night with my girlfriend even better. We got two fish entrees off of the specials menu, and Dimitri filleted the fish I ordered tableside absolutely perfectly and at a quick pace. The food here was so delicious that I was upset when it was gone from my plate. I highly recommend their seafood, and their gelato is fantastic as well. Yes it was expensive, but after eating just the appetizer we ordered I had no issues with paying for my meal. It was worth every last penny and then some. Dimitri and whichever chef worked on 1/5/20 late at night both deserve a raise.

I'd start by saying our server (Keith) was outstanding. He could make a bad restaurant look good. But yes onto the food- It was good when compared to the price, I just expected a little more flare. Don't get me wrong- it really was good, just not extravagant. A filet mignon is top dollar and it was great, (as they always are) but I've had the same greatness for less. The service was excellent. Our water was always full and the table was always cleaned off. Our server (Keith) was consistently walking by waiting to see if we needed anything. He was very polite, calm, helpful and professional.

Food was good, service was excellent. Dessert was amazing! The Salted Caramel Gelato was by far the best I've ever had. We were able to get last minute reservations, the hostess was very accommodating. Our table was ready when we arrived. The server was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, along with some great food recommendations. We will definitely be back.

We met friends and dined at the Annapolis location. The GF fresh fettuccine made me sick! It was delicious but I threw it up about 15 minutes after eating it. Without being too graphic... it was the only part of the meal that I threw up. I’m sure it must have been spoiled. Perhaps, the flour was spoiled or the pasta was sitting in their refrigerator too long. We will not return.

Delicious food, great staff, good drink selection, nice ambiance. Right in the middle of Main Street within walking distance of a lot of fun shops. The gnocchi is extraordinary, highly recommended!

A meal to remember, staff was very attentive, pasta with crab and shrimp was the best I've had in years. Delightful meal.

Wow! What an experience! Hostess greeted me by name, our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly, gave thorough and genuine recommendations, and even gave us a toast for our wedding anniversary which we were celebrating that night. My meal was absolute perfection, and a great wine selection to go with it. We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. I cannot remember the waiter’s name unfortunately, but he made it such a lovely evening that we’ll remember. We will certainly be back when we’re in the area, and highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Best Italian food around

The only reason I am giving 2 stars was because the service was great. The food tasted alright,not the greatest, but not the worst. I ended up getting food poisoning from their and called the following day to inform them. The manager got very defensive and told me it was from somewhere else I have eaten and couldn't be from there. Well I don't go out to eat very often, and hadn't eaten out anywhere prior. He then proceeded to tell me that it takes a week to get food poisoning which is incorrect. So I guess the doctors around here are wrong and he is the medical professional. Very unprofessional. I wasn't looking to get anything from them, I just wanted to let them know. He didn't care at all. We won't be going back.
